Because the beach south-west of the island has a two-meter-high reef with caves in the middle, whenever the tide surges, waves hit the reef, sound like a drum, people call it "gu lang stone", Gulangyu is named for it. Gulangyu has slow-paced urban culture with its short and crisscrossed streets, sea breeze, and sound of the waves.

In this project, LiteMagic participated in many parts, including the drum sound hole, pen cave, Longshan cave, Weizhuang Garden, Inner O Pier, Citizen's Wharf, Hero Mountain (Qinyuan). Not only to enhance the visual impact based on the original lighting, but also to highlight the characteristics of the landscape and lighting effects. The misplaced mountains and buildings were illuminated by the light to create a beautiful view of the highs and lows.

LiteMagic applied linear wall washers and pixel lights to show the quiet, distant Gulangyu in the night scene. After the lighting renovation, the quiet and exquisite night scenery of Gu Lang Yu had sharp contrast with the other side of the river.
